Kimono Style in Modern Japan
This is a free exhibition of kimono and items of Japanese accessory and clothing.
All members of the public are welcome.
There will be an informal talk on “Kimono style in modern Japan” from 5.00-6.00 in the Dechaineux Lecture Theatre, Tasmanian School of Art, Hunter Street, Hobart Waterfront. All are welcome to attend. For details, see over below.

“Kimono Style in Modern Japan” was held as part of the Japan Foundation funded “Technologies of Gender:
Shaping Women’s Bodies Through Kimono and Costume in Post-Meiji Japan” symposium which took place at UTAS in February 2014 and was convened by Dr Barbara Hartley.
The exhibition featured kimono and textiles from the collections of Sheila Cliffe, Minako Stuart, Barbara Hartley, Jan Ochi, and my own.
